IEEE Kazakhstan Section Participated in the Opening of Astana AI Week 2026
Dr. Didar Yedilkhan, Chair of the IEEE Kazakhstan Section, delivered the opening address at Astana AI Week 2026, welcoming participants and highlighting the official launch of the IEEE Kazakhstan Section. During his speech, he introduced the mission and global impact of IEEE, emphasized the importance of international collaboration, and shared the Section’s vision for future initiatives and partnerships in Kazakhstan.

Astana AI Week 2026 is one of the country’s leading events dedicated to the development and practical application of artificial intelligence. The event brought together approximately 500 participants and featured presentations from 50 leading speakers representing academia, industry, and government.
The exhibition showcased more than 30 innovative AI projects developed by Astana IT University, Nazarbayev University, Satbayev University, and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, demonstrating the rapid growth of AI research and technological innovation in Kazakhstan.
One of the key highlights of the event was the AI Hackathon, which attracted 200 participants. Competing teams presented more than 40 AI-based solutions, demonstrating creativity, technical expertise, and engineering excellence while addressing real-world challenges across various sectors.
