The IEEE Kazakhstan Section has received the Gold Student Branch Excellence Badge for Sections. The recognition was presented during the 127th IEEE Region 8 Committee Meeting, held on 20–21 August 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

This achievement reflects the consistent work of IEEE Student Branches in Kazakhstan and recognizes their commitment to active student engagement, timely reporting, effective leadership and the development of strong professional communities at their universities.

IEEE Student Branches provide students with opportunities to develop technical and leadership skills, organize educational and professional events, participate in international IEEE initiatives, and establish connections with researchers, engineers and fellow students around the world. The Gold Badge demonstrates the growing involvement of Kazakhstan’s students in these activities and their contribution to the wider IEEE community.

The IEEE Kazakhstan Section extends its special congratulations to the following Student Branches and their leadership teams:

  • SDU University IEEE Student Branch, led by Aizada Abdirasulova and Toktalkhan Nurmukhammedkyzy, with Student Branch Counselor Umar Adam Ibrahim;
  • Astana IT University IEEE Student Branch, led by Nurbolat Amilbek and Sabina Saleshova, with Student Branch Counselor Aidana Zhalgas;
  • Nazarbayev University IEEE Student Branch, led by Bekzat Bekenuly and Dariga Suleimenova, with Student Branch Counselor Carlo Molardi.

This recognition would not have been possible without the dedication of student volunteers, Student Branch officers and counselors. Their efforts in organizing activities, supporting members, maintaining effective reporting and strengthening cooperation have played an essential role in this collective achievement.

The IEEE Kazakhstan Section sincerely thanks everyone who contributed to this success. The Gold Badge is both an acknowledgment of the work already accomplished and an encouragement to continue expanding student-led IEEE activities throughout Kazakhstan.

Universities interested in establishing an IEEE Student Branch are invited to contact the IEEE Kazakhstan Section. Opening a Student Branch enables students to become part of an international professional community, gain access to IEEE resources and develop initiatives that support their academic, technical and professional growth.

Congratulations to all our Student Branches, volunteers, officers and counselors on this outstanding achievement!
