Held alongside the 2026 IEEE 3rd International Student Conference on Digital Generation, the Build with AI Hackathon was hosted by the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Astana IT University, with a total prize pool of KZT 900,000.

The hackathon featured two tracks:

🔹 Google AI Solutions — 19 project submissions
🔹 AI for Smart Cities — 54 project submissions

Following the initial evaluation, 10 projects from each track were selected for the final round. The finalists presented their solutions to the jury, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can be applied to address practical challenges and support the development of smarter, more sustainable cities.

The event was organized by the School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with the support of the Google Developer Group, the IEEE Kazakhstan Section, and the Astana IT University IEEE Student Branch.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Rector of Astana IT University, Dr. Altair Akhmetov, for creating valuable opportunities that support student innovation and professional development.

Special thanks go to Dr. Muslim Sergaziyev, Dr. Akmaral Kuatbayeva, Mr. Nurbolat Amilbek, and Ms. Sabina Saleshova for organizing the hackathon and contributing to its success.

Hackathons empower students to transform ideas into practical solutions, strengthen their teamwork and problem-solving skills, and gain valuable hands-on experience. Taking part is already an achievement—every challenge presents an opportunity to learn, grow, and innovate.
